Swimming

Adult swimming provides a developmental programme leading from Beginners, to Improvers and then Advanced,covering basic fundimentals to developing technical proficiency in water. (Courses comence Wednesday 2nd February for 10 weeks. £65 for member /£95 for non-members)   

Adult Beginners is a tailored course for first time novice swimmers. The objective of this course is to help adults to become more comfortable in the water. They will learn to enter the water, breath conrol and self boyancy. As confidence builds they will learn the correct body position, kicking, travelling through water and all the elementary strokes.

Adult Intermediate focuses on stroke development and with greater confience in the water the strokess that are learned in the beginner's course are further developed. Adults are completely independant at this level, treading water and recovery to a swimming position is mastered and basic turns will be introduced.

Adult Advanced objectives include developing stroke correction, technique and refinement in order to achieve more efficiency and endurance. More advanced progression is focused on to master all elementary strokes.

Holistic

Yoga For Energy with Carolina Sherwani will help you feel more balanced and energised. Each practice will include a gentle warm up, breathing techniques and Pranayama. We will emphasise the repetition in our practice of Sun/ Moon Salutations to re-energise the body and calm the mind. The different pace of the poses will help you develop strength, balance and flexibility. There will be a cool down through gentle stretching and a focus on relaxation to end the session. We will concentrate on different areas of the body, to achieve maximum whole body stretch through various asanas (poses). All abilities welcome. (Course commences 18th January for 12 weeks. £72 for members /£108 for Non Members)

Pilates (Matwork) Pilates Mat Work is for individuals of all levels, ability and age. This course will aim to improve your fitness and wellbeing whilst toning muscles and improving mobility. Pilates is an excellent way to keep fit, stay mindful and help reduce the chance of injury" (Course commences 17th January for 12 weeks. £72 for members /£108 for Non Members)

Fitness

R.I.S.E. with Paul Reynolds is for beginner and intermediate trainers, focusing on fitness fundamentals, nutrition and continuous self-improvement. Gain the knowledge and confidence to manage your lifestyle and improve your body. Sessions vary between strength training and H.I.I.T workouts, with online nutrition support. Female Strength Training with Paul Reynolds is a progressive course developed for women who wish to get stronger and learn proper technique in the primary barbell, kettlebell and bodyweight movements. Gain confidence training with weights and learn in a non-intimidating group environment.(Course commences 19th January for 12 weeks. £72 for members /£108 for Non Members)

As per the terms of the Queen’s Sport health declaration, all bookers must advise of any medical or health issues in advance of the course.
