Queen’s Sport Marks Mental Health Awareness Week with Activities for Staff and Students

Queen’s Sport is marking Mental Health Awareness Week from 12 to 18 May by hosting a series of events aimed at promoting connection, wellbeing, and physical activity. This year’s theme is ‘Community,’ emphasizing the importance of supporting one another.

Join us for the following activities throughout the week:

Tuesday 13th May:

  • Yoga U: Unwind with a lunchtime yoga session from 1.00pm to 1.45pm in the Cube, hosted by Active Campus.

  • Mental Health Market: Visit our stand at the Mental Health Market from 2.00pm to 4.00pm to learn about the resources available to support your wellbeing.

Wednesday 14th May:

  • Wellbeing Walk: Take a break and join the Active Campus team for a Wellbeing Walk at 1.15pm.

  • Wellbeing Fair: Stop by our stand at the Wellbeing Fair from 10.00am to 12.00pm and find out how Queen’s Sport can support your mental and physical health.

Thursday 15th May:

  • Staff Games on the Quad: Bring your colleagues and join us for some friendly competition from 12.30pm to 2.00pm. Queen’s Sport will facilitate games including badminton, bean bag tossing, and a mini obstacle race, with prizes to be won. After the games, the first 100 staff members who register will receive a free ice cream or slushie – tokens can be collected from the Wellbeing team in the Quad.

Additionally, other events taking place across the University include:

  • Tropical Ravine Tour: Explore the historic Tropical Ravine building in Botanic Gardens on Tuesday 13 May, with tours at 12.00pm and 1.00pm. Find out more and register here.

  • Wellbeing Fair: On Wednesday 14 May, visit wellbeing stalls from Inspire, Jora Clinic, and Sleep Medical NI, plus enjoy free hand massages and prize giveaways from 10.00am to 1.00pm in the Main Site Tower at Junction.  Find out more and register here.

  • Games on the Quad: Bring a team and join in the fun on Thursday 15 May, 12.30pm to 2.00pm, with prizes to be won. Find out more and register here.

  • Staff Giveaway: After taking part in the Quad games, the first 100 staff members to sign up will receive a free ice cream or slushie – tokens available from the Wellbeing team in the Quad.
