Upper Malone

Queen's Sport Upper Malone

Much success, failure, triumph and heartache had been experienced over the years at Upper Malone. Champions have been made, trophies won and accolades heaped onto thousands of students throughout its existence. Now, with the investment, the outdoor facilities at Upper Malone have been turned into a world-class centre for training and competition, ensuring generations of students, staff and the community can continue to believe in excellence.

The Arena Pitch and Clubhouse dominate the new facility. Capable of seating nearly 330 people and sporting a fibre-sand reinforced pitch, it’s the only facility in the UK and Ireland that showcases the sports of rugby, Gaelic games and soccer on one single platform.

The perfect playing surfaces

State-of-the-art floodlit grass and synthetic playing surfaces are perfect for Gaelic games, hockey, rugby, soccer and other key sports. They are ideal for year-round training, sports camps and bookings, such as 5-a-side soccer.

Changing areas

As well as the 22 changing rooms in the Clubhouse, Upper Malone features 16 grass changing rooms with shower and ancillary provision, giving teams immediate access to the grass pitches on the south side of the site.

Indoor warm up/cool down area

This unique purpose-built area can allow teams to carry out pre and post match stretching and warm up activities indoors.
