Bio – Ellen McCullagh

Queen’s Sport Campus Co-ordinator (student assistant)

My name is Ellen McCullagh and I am a medical student undertaking an intercalation year in psychology. I am the new Queen’s Sport Campus Co-ordinator and I am here to help students and staff ‘find their level’ regarding active lifestyle choices in relation to fitness/health and social sport activities.   The “Active Campus” project will be one of my main focuses throughout the year thanks to funding for the Queen’s Annual, where events and taster sessions will be held to promote a range of social, club and physical activity opportunities to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing for everyone. Bringing “fitness to you” will allow everyone with different interests to become active and live a healthy lifestyle. Personally, I thoroughly enjoy keeping healthy myself, I play Gaelic football and attend the gym regularly to ensure not only my physical fitness but to ensure I have a positive mental and emotional wellbeing. When I exercise, whether it’s a simple 10-minute walk in the park or a gym session it allows me to offload everyday stresses while keeping my cardiovascular and muscular systems strong. I also enjoy eating healthy, I try to “eat to move” and I feel putting good fuel into your body allows you to perform much better in sports, exercise and in general everyday life. I look forward to engaging with University staff and students over the new term and can’t wait to help you ‘Find your Level’
