Sporting Ambassadors help ‘Build Sport’ at Queen’s

The exciting is building at Queen’s in anticipation of the official opening of the NEW Outdoor Sporting facilities at Upper Malone.  A preview event took place on Tuesday 19 April, 2011 at Queen’s main indoor sporting facilities at the Physical Education Centre where it was announced that these ‘World Class’ sporting facilities will officially open in Spring 2012.

Sporting ambassadors representing a range of sports, student clubs, national governing bodies of sport and other sporting organisations were on hand to promote these world class facilities that will provide enhanced sporting opportunities for all.

Liz Mc Laughlin (Head of Sport at Queen’s) commented:  ‘Today’s event is about giving people a taste of what’s to come in relation to Sport at Queen’s.  We aim to become the premier university for sporting opportunities in Ireland – thereby becoming one of the top universities in Europe – and through this investment in facilities and with the support from our sporting ambassadors we can make this happen’
